I can only recommend that attention be paid to correct selection of heat setting for the pouches becoming used and taking care to feed the pouch correctly into the machine. The instructions aren't the best but I think it matters more to a novice over an skilled user; still it is nothing that a novice user cannot cope with. I've no issue recommending this model and don't regret my decision to buy it.
I have not had any issues whatsoever. it simply functions as advertised. It's built very solid (it's heavy!). My only wish is that it included a carrier or 2. You don't need 1 normally, but it recommends utilizing one if the object is significantly smaller than the pouch than you're using. I've gotten around this by cutting the pouch to size prior to laminating. so it is not really a big deal, but there may come a day when I need the carrier, and wish that I had one.
I've utilized a professional roll laminator in the past and this puts out a item just as good as that. I have not attempted the cold setting yet or place in any pouch bigger than the letter size but I see no cause that even the 12 x 18 menu size would not laminate just as perfect. Easy directions to follow to use also as preserve. I wouldn't hesitate to suggest this to any of my buddies.
